In a remarkable display of skill determination and teamwork, India must be victorious in the T20 World Cup 2024. This achievement has not only brought bright to India but also has given an ICC tournament trophy after 13 years. Nishan was waiting for the mobile to win the India will we know ICC trophy and finally after 13 years in a big occasion like the World Cup India finally got the trophy.
After reaching the final without a loss in any match in the tournament everybody was thinking that now this time you should not be like the World Cup last year held in India. This time India should win the World Cup.
We all cricket fans were predicting that this could be the last T20 World Cup of the cricket legends of India like Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. And after the winning moment, Virat Kohli declared in an interview that this was his last match in the T20 format for India and after some hours of winning, we got news that Rohit Sharma has also declared his retirement from T20 international.
At the beginning of the match, India won the toss and decided to bat first. When Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma came on the field to bat in the first over they got 15 runs after brilliant three fours. And in the next over Rohit Sharma started with brilliant two fours but he lost his wicket in the same over and that was a brilliant catch by Heinrich Klaasen.
And then Rishabh Pant came and he was out so early and then after a few overs Suryakumar Yadav got out and that was also a good catch bhai Heinrich Klaasen. Then captain Rohit Sharma made a very good decision by sending Axer Patel and he played well he was hitting well. He was trying to score with good speed and Virat Kohli after two early wickets was trying to maintain his wicket and was playing a little slow but after he crossed 50 he geared up his Speed and at the last India was successful in reaching 176 total.
India got early wickets of two South African star players Reeza Hendricks and captain Aiden Markram. At the beginning of the second innings Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh played their role brilliantly. But after those early wickets Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs made a good partnership and Akshar Patel got the wicket of Tristan Stubbs and broke the partnership.

Then after them, all the cricket fans were not hoping even that India could win this World Cup this time as Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller were playing beautifully he made 52 runs in just 27 balls and he was playing furiously and we think he planned to finish the game as early as possible.
And then Rohit Sharma called Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya again and got 2 wickets in 2 overs and we should mention in the article that Surya Kumar Yadav got a brilliant catch maybe the catch of the tournament as some cricket legends are saying that one of the best catch in the history of cricket that was a catch of David Miller the cricket world knows him as killer Miller as he is a master to finish the game and indeed he is one of the best finishers in the world.
so after the wicket of David Miller, it was clear that India was going to win and Hardik Pandya bowled brilliantly in the last over. After the over, we saw tears in the eyes of Hardik Pandya and every player in India was so much emotional. After all, they were dying this time to win the World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah | Player of the Tournament:
Speech after India wins the T20 World Cup.
“Usually, I’m the one who tries to keep my emotions in check and get the job done but today I don’t have many words, I don’t usually cry after a game but the emotions are taking over. We were in trouble but we’re really over the moon to win from that stage.
My family is here, we came close last time and we got the job done, there’s no better feeling than to get your team through in a game like this. It just felt good, tried to keep myself in a bubble and tried not to think too far ahead. When the big day comes, you have to do it, throughout the tournament I felt very clear.
I always think about one ball and one over at a time, don’t think too far ahead. Emotions can take over, it was taking over but you have to keep it in check but now that the game is over, it can come out and you can scream and shout. (When he was asked to bowl the 16th over) I saw the ball was a bit scuffed up and it would reverse a bit, thought which would be the most difficult shot for the batter and was able to execute it.”

“Well, this was my last T20 World Cup.. And.. This is exactly what we wanted to achieve. This is an amazing game. I was telling Rohit today when we went out to bat I was like.. one day you feel like you can’t get a run and then you come out and things happen. God is great. I bow my head in gratitude. I am really grateful that I was able to get the job done for the team on the day it mattered the most. (On his different approach today) Just the occasion. It was now or never I knew.
This is.. my last T20 game playing for India. It’s the last World Cup I was going to play, so I wanted to make the most of it and this was our aim. We wanted to win an ICC tournament. We wanted to lift the cup and as I said it was the occasion that helped me to put my head down and just respect the situation rather than trying to force things out there and really play the game that my team wanted me to play. (Have just you made an announcement about T20Is?) Yes I have.
This was an open secret (smiles). It was not something that I was not going to announce even if we had lost. This was going to be my last T20 World Cup playing for India. It’s time for the next generation to take over. It’s a 2-year cycle and there are some amazing players playing in India and they are going to take the team forward in the T20 format and do wonders as we have seen them do in the IPL and I have no doubts that they will keep the flags waving high and take this team further from here now.
It’s been a long wait for us just waiting to win an ICC tournament. It’s not just me alone. You look at someone like Rohit, he’s played 9 T20 World Cups and this is my sixth. He deserves it as much as anyone else in the squad. Just happy we were able to get the job done and really it’s hard to explain the emotions I felt after the game. I knew what kind of mindset I was in.
I wasn’t very confident in the last few games. I wasn’t feeling really good out there. But when God has to bless you with something he shows in ways that you can’t imagine and that’s why I said I’m grateful and humbled right now and I bow my head. It’s been difficult and hence the emotions of the game went as well and the way we came back and the kind of character the guys showed it’s really difficult to hold things back. I think it’s going to sink in a little later, the emotions are going to come to the surface a little later more but it’s just an amazing day and I couldn’t be more thankful.”

Rohit Sharma | India Captain:
Speech after India wins the T20 World Cup.
“Very hard to sum up what we have been through for the last 3-4 years. To be honest, we worked very hard as individuals and as a team a team, lot has gone on behind the scenes for us to be here today and win this game. It is not what we did today, it is what we have been doing for the last 3-4 years. That’s the the result that has come for us today. We have played lots of high pressure games in the past as well and have been on the wrong side as well. But the guys understand what needs to be done.
Today was the perfect example of when the back is against the wall, what is required. We stuck together as a team and the guys, all of us, even when at one point it was looking South Africa’s way. Overall, as a team, as a group on the field, we wanted this really bad. We wanted to win this. To win a tournament like this, a lot goes behind the scenes, a lot of effort, a lot of minds need to come together.
I am very proud of this bunch of boys I have and the management as well for giving us that liberty to go and play, to execute, for having that trust in each one of us. That has to start from the management, coach, captain and then the players go out there and do it. Throughout the tournament, I think we were fantastic. Not me and nobody was in doubt with Virat’s form. We know the quality he has, he’s been on top of his game for 15 years, come the occasion the big players will stand up.
Virat was holding that one end which was very crucial for us and the others played around him. For us to get to that total, it was a team effort. We wanted someone to bat as long as possible. These are not wickets where you can come and bat freely and keep the scoreboard ticking straightaway, so we do understand that. We wanted somebody to bat as long as possible and Virat did that perfectly. That’s where the experience of Virat comes through.
The other guys around played really well, Axar’s knock of 47 was very crucial as well. (On Bumrah) I can understand you guys trying to put it into words but I’ve been someone who has seen him for so many years, even playing alongside him, but even I don’t what exactly is with him. I know exactly what he brings to the table but how he does that, it is just a masterclass.
He backs his skills which is more than enough and he is a very confident lad. Whatever he wants to do, he executes to perfection which is a very rare sight. Jasprit Bumrah, to put it in one word, he’s a class act. Hardik was brilliant as well, bowling that last over, no matter how many runs is required, to bowl that last over, I am very proud of the boys.
Absolutely fantastic, all the way from New York to Barbados, I just want to salute them, to come and support us the way they have and even back home in India, millions are sitting and watching, it’s late night in India, I’m pretty sure they are up watching this. They have been waiting a long time, just like us. This is for them. Very very proud of what we have achieved today.”
Aiden Markram | South Africa Captain:
“Gutted for the time being. It’ll take some time for us to have a really good reflection on a really good campaign the group had. Obviously for the time being, like I mentioned, it hurts quite a bit. Having said that, I’m incredibly proud of this group of players and everyone involved with the team. I feel they bowled well (SA bowlers). Don’t think there was a whole lot to work with with regards to the pitch.
Thought they did well to restrict them to what we thought was a chaseable total. Thought we batted really well as well, and it came down to the wire. Really good game of cricket. We’ve seen with a lot of our games in this campaign – it’s never over till the last ball is bowled. We never got comfortable, there’s always an element of scoreboard pressure.
And especially at the back end, things happen quite quickly and can turn quite quickly as well. Having said that, we got into a great position which proves we’re worthy finalists. Could’ve won the game today. Unfortunately we didn’t. Still, like I mentioned, incredibly proud of the group. Hopefully in a really good way (how does this set them up for the future?).
One thing guaranteed about a South African wherever they are in the world is they’re a really competitive person, really respectful person and a person that’ll go down with a fight. Hopefully looking forward we can draw a lot from those few things and keep putting the skill side of the sport to good use. It’s still a proud moment for us.”
